Multnomah County Corrections Health Safer Suicide Prevention Coalition
This initiative is focused on Increasing risk assessment and safety planning for people in custody who use opioids, helping integrate these practices into existing workflows. Funding will also expand training around reducing access to lethal means.
Columbia County Suicide Prevention Coalition
By strengthening outreach and community engagement, this coalition is building membership, sustainability, and long-term capacity for suicide prevention efforts across the county. The work will expand training opportunities, promote safe storage and reduced access to lethal means, and foster conversations about the connections between substance use, overdose deaths, and suicide.
Clackamas County Suicide Prevention Coalition
Using a family-centered, public health approach, this initiative helps reduce suicide risk among youth involved in the juvenile justice system by equipping caregivers with education, resources, and secure storage tools before crises occur. This project will equip caregivers with knowledge, resources, and secure storage items to reduce youth suicide and overdose risk before crises escalate.
Oregon Firearm Safety Coalition
Grant funding will support the development and delivery of the Safe Homes, Strong Futures trainings, the purchase and distribution of life-saving materials, outreach and participant recruitment, and coordination with community partners throughout the region. By pairing education with direct resource distribution, this project ensures participants leave not only informed but prepared to take action.
Central Oregon Suicide Prevention Alliance
Central Oregon data has reinforced the need for stronger community education and prevention efforts in secure medication storage as well as efforts to address everyday household items that may pose risk, and the ability to maintain and increase the momentum built for secure firearm storage efforts. Grant funding would support expansion of this project, including community-informed education, increase secure storage resources, and broaden prevention messaging to include medication safety and household means safety alongside firearm storage.
Suicide Prevention Coalition of Lane County
The project supported by this funding will focus on increasing coalition membership by adding substance abuse prevention and treatment providers to the coalition. The coalition intends to create a comprehensive education and training plan under the guidance of a newly formed workgroup focused on substance use and suicide prevention.
Yamhill County Suicide Prevention Coalition
This initiative strengthens the coalition's community presence through branding and outreach while expanding access to Safe Home Kits that promote secure storage and support conversations about firearm safety, substance use, and suicide prevention.
Jefferson County Coalition for Prevention
This project directly addresses health inequities by expanding access to suicide prevention education and postvention support across diverse community groups. By intentionally including a broader range of partners—such as community organizations, culturally specific groups, and Coalition members—we ensure that voices from historically underserved populations are centered in both planning and implementation.
Tillamook County Suicide Prevention Coalition
The projects aim to center youth voices and safe spaces. Following the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) categories, our projects are organized within information dissemination, alternative events, and prevention education.
Veterans Together Coalition
The coalition is creating a roadmap to make it easier for veterans and their families to access suicide prevention, substance use, and other support services. This work will also establish a comprehensive directory of veteran resources throughout the three-county area.
Multnomah Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition
This initiative expands the Safety Starts at Home program by increasing access to naloxone (Narcan), firearm lockboxes, cable locks, and other safe storage supplies. Funding will help meet the growing community demand for naloxone while continuing to promote safe storage as a key suicide prevention strategy.
Suicide Prevention Alliance of Washington County
This proposal will fund a series of small community projects across Washington County designed to strengthen positive, culturally meaningful connections, enhance individual and collective coping strategies, and promote protective factors that protect residents from substance abuse and suicide. Community based organizations will be able to apply for up to $2,000 to implement activities, events, or programs that foster belonging, build mutual support, and promote culturally relevant pathways to emotional well being.
You Matter to Klamath
Funding will be used to purchase and distribute safe storage devices, including medication lock boxes, ammunition lock boxes, firearm cable locks, and medication disposal bags, which will be provided at no cost to community members. These items will be distributed through crisis response teams, healthcare providers, community events, and partnerships with local organizations.
Josephine County Suicide Prevention Coalition
A new Youth Prevention Advisory Council (YPAC) will engage seven youth ages 15–24 in stipend-supported leadership, empowering them to design and implement community-based strategies that address suicide and substance use prevention.
Samaritan Health Services
Funding will provide Motivational Interviewing (MI) training to equip staff with person-centered communication strategies that build trust, reduce defensiveness, and strengthen engagement in treatment and safety planning. By increasing provider confidence and improving intervention skills, this training expands the community's capacity to respond effectively to individuals at risk for suicide and substance use.
Black Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition
Our project is a multi-day conference designed as a wellness strategy focused on developing youth leadership within a roadmap of various community events hosted by our organizations throughout the course of the year. It will engage 100-150 high school age youth with diverse representation from across the state to meet at Central Oregon Community College to discuss health and holistic educational wellbeing as well as for our community.
Horses for Heroes United
This project aims to provide coalition coordination, safety equipment, and the expansion of our 8-week sessions to reach a larger cohort of high-risk veterans.
